Depth vs Breadth: Why I’m Changing The Frequency Of My Newsletter Articles
Today I’m celebrating a small victory, one of consistency and effort. Today marks three full months of writing a newsletter article every weekday.
If you rewind back to my June 24th post, you’ll see that I committed to writing more often and sharing ideas related to my professional work, personal interests, and current events. It’s been a whirlwind of an effort and I didn’t think that I would make it three months.
Many of you are recent subscribers and some of you have been on the journey for months. In both cases, a huge ‘thank you’ to you! I never set out to write this much and I never publicly committed to this frequency - it just kind of happened.
However, it hasn’t been easy and I think it may have come at a cost.
Not only does it take a significant amount of time each day to ideate on and compile an article, particularly while family/life/work obligations remain pressing, but it also means I can’t go extremely deep on any given piece.
Writing daily articles typically resulted in me covering a broad range of topics, but it minimized my ability to produce more thoughtful and in-depth pieces.
My hypothesis is that most readers would appreciate more depth. Would you?
Moving forward, I’ll still be writing regularly but not on a daily basis. If you have specific topics or ideas that you would like me to cover, let me know.
If you’ve enjoyed the content you’ve read through this newsletter, feel free to share it with others who may be interested.
Have a great weekend!
